Everything happens for a reason

Fall reminds me of  the saying “everything happens for a reason”.

The beautiful colors, the crisp air all signal the end of summer and the preparation for winter.

“Everything happens for a reason”  how many times have we all been told that?  Usually when we least want to hear it or at best when we least feel understanding of the lesson.  It is most often said in a time of deep reflection or difficulty. It is a reminder to live in the moment but to believe faithfully in what is to come.

I used to tell my daughters “you can choose to see blue skies”.  It was my way of saying make the most of every day. Enjoy the moment, laugh often and give back when you can.

I have had a good dose of “everything happens for a reason” lately. As frustrating as it can be, I have opened my heart to it.  Thankfully my heart and life has been rewarded ten fold.

Get outside, breath in the fresh air, look for your blue sky and enjoy.  You just might find a rainbow!
